The US insurance industry lost 1,400 in June, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Economic Situation report released earlier this month. The industry now employs 2,710,500 insurance workers. 

The unemployment rate increased to 1.9 percent from a 2019-record low of 1.0 percent in May.
