Default Different careers within the industry

Have any of you transitioned from one career to another within the insurance industry? Do you have any regrets?

I left a captive agency to go independent. Is that what you are asking?

Default Some Info

Yes, there could be a lot of options within the same industry. You could probably transition to Claims Processing, a part of the clearing department.

I am of the opinion that a transition from one career to another is always related with chances and risks. If you change you never really know if the new job is in actual fact better or just on paper. Currently I am thinking about starting a career in the financial industry. I think I will take a risk and try to start a career.

When I started with the auto insurance company I am with now I started as an inside adjuster. After about a year I had the option to become a damage appraiser. It was a job where I worked out of a car, and got a pay raise. It to me was a great move. I have a lot more freedom. I just go out do my job and have fun. Also since then my company has decided to close some offices. Because I go and look at cars at shops they need local people for that, so I do not have to move or drive to a different office.
