I've been an RN for 16 years and have worked in the hospital the entire time. I'm planning to take a course in Legal Nurse Consulting. There are so many to choose from it's gets to be confusing. My question is how does someone get started in this profession once they have completed the course. So far the only job offerings I see are for an experienced LNC. Any feedback is okay.

Hi Felicia,
I didn't take any actual course to become an LNC, I found a law firm who included, "will train" and learned first hand from them. You might include that in your word search along with nurse paralegal. Some firms don't know the difference between the two and use these words interchangably. If you can't find an entry level position, take one of the courses online. Being certified might help but I've never taken the test and no one has asked I be certified and this is my 7th year. Hope this helps
