The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released a report December 6, 2013 announcing a .24 percent increase in the number of workers in the insurance industry from October 2013 – November 2013.  The insurance industry now employs 2.381 million workers compared to 2.375 million in October 2013. In October the unemployment rate continued to rise reaching 3.8 percent.  In a positive turn of fate, the unemployment rate dropped to 2.9 percent in November.
